The fifteenth season of the I Slice anime series was produced by Toei Blitheness, and directed by Hiroaki Miyamoto. The season was broadcast in Japan on Fuji Idiot box on October 2, 2011 to December 23, 2012.[1] Like the rest of the serial, it follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Chapeau Pirates. The start of fourteen DVD compilations was released on December five, 2012, and the concluding one was released on December 3, 2013.

The main story arc, called "Fishman Island" ( 魚人島 , Gyojin-tō ), adapts material from the 61st to the end of the 66th volumes of the manga past Eiichiro Oda. Two years have passed since the war at Marineford, and Luffy regroups with the Straw Hats reunite at Sabaody subsequently completing their grooming sessions. From at that place, they caput off to Fishman Island. All the same, they end up facing Hordy Jones[a] who plots to use a coup d'état to take control of Fishman Isle. The concluding four episodes comprise an original story arc, "Z's Ambition!" ( Zの野望編 , Zetto no Yabō ), which serves as a prologue to the meantime released 1 Piece Motion-picture show: Z.

Merely a single slice of theme music is used for this season. The opening theme, titled "We Go!" ( ウィーゴー! , Wī Gō! ), is performed by Hiroshi Kitadani.[2] [3]

In North America, the bulk of the season was recategorized every bit "Season Ix" for its DVD release by Funimation Entertainment. The Australian Season Nine sets were renamed Collection 43 through 47.
